Meridian is a free world clock, time zone converter, and time-coordination tool. The core clock experience remains private by default and stores its preferences only in your browser. The optional Find a Time Beta stores limited invite data so participants can respond from different devices. We do not sell personal information or use invite data for advertising.

What we store on your device

Meridian saves a small amount of data locally in your browser using localStorage. This is what lets Meridian remember your setup between visits, including:

• the cities on your board (and their order)
• your time format (12- or 24-hour)
• your chosen "reachable hours" and meeting length
• whether you've dismissed the intro tip
• recent Find a Time shared links and the participant you last selected for each invite

Core clock preferences stay on your device. A stored Find a Time link and participant ID are sent back to Meridian only when you open or update that shared invite. You can clear all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for Meridian.

Find a Time Beta

Find a Time is an optional, free Beta for coordinating a time with other people. It does not require anyone to create an account. When someone creates an invite, Meridian may store:

• the invite title, date, duration, and final selected time
• participant names added by the group
• the city or country and time zone selected by each participant
• availability ranges and response choices submitted by participants
• invite status and limited operational data needed for delivery, security, and abuse prevention

Each invite has one opaque shared link. Anyone with that link can see and edit participant names, chosen cities, and availability, add another participant, confirm a final time, or delete the invite. This trusted-workspace model is stated in the product. Shared links should be sent only to the intended group and should not be posted publicly.

Invite retention and control

Find a Time data is kept only as long as needed to operate an active invite, resolve the coordination, and protect the service from abuse. Invites expire after the retention period shown in the product. Anyone with the shared link can delete an invite sooner, which removes its participant and availability data from the active service, subject to short-lived backups and records that must be retained for security or legal reasons.

Location

If you tap the "use my location" button, your browser asks permission and gives Meridian your approximate coordinates once, in your browser, only to pick the nearest city. We never store or transmit your location.

Analytics

Meridian uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and performance, including page views, referrers, device types, countries, and Core Web Vitals. It does not use cookies, build personal profiles, or track people across websites.

Meridian also counts a short list of basic actions on its own server, so we can tell whether anyone is using it: opening the app or a shared link, finishing setup, adding or removing a city or person, using Ask, finding a shared time, copying something to share, and asking for your location. Each record holds the action name, the date, and a one-day anonymous identifier that lets us count how many people came that day. That identifier is a one-way hash that changes at midnight and cannot be reversed or followed from one day to the next. No board, city, person, time, network address, or browser detail is stored, and these records are deleted after 180 days.

Feedback form

The "Feedback" button opens a short form hosted by Tally, a form provider based in the EU. The form is only loaded from Tally when you open it — if you never press the button, nothing about your visit is shared with them. Tally does not use cookie-based tracking, and nothing is sent until you submit. Answers are anonymous unless you choose to leave an email address for follow-up, and we record which part of Meridian you opened the form from so we know what the feedback refers to.

Advertising

Meridian does not use Find a Time invite data, participant names, time zones, or availability for advertising. If advertising is introduced elsewhere in the free product, this page will be updated to describe the provider, what data it receives, and any choices available to you.
